K-9 Cinder – Canada(Badge On My Collar)
Rob trudged through the deep snow to approach the front of the
house and knocked on the door. There was no response. The other
officers joined him and banged on the door loudly with their
batons. Cinder barked and paced in excitement straining against
her harness and leash to get to the door, her prey drive
increasing by the minute. With no response after ten minutes of
knocking, the street supervisor drew back his snowy boot and
kicked the door in with a loud crack. No warrant was needed.
Cinder’s indication was cause enough.
For a wintry Canadian night, the weather could have been much
harsher Rob thought as he drove home. Staked out with an Emergency
Response Team stuck stationed at the back of a home waiting for a
suspect to surrender would have been far worse. Cinder had had
such nights where she hunkered down with wind swirling white
around her as she lay in the snow perfectly still except for the
occasional shiver.
